Commercial Carpet Cleaner

Commercial Carpet cleaner is a powerful machine used for cleaning carpets in a manner in which the vacuum cleaners cannot. Though the vacuum cleaners suffice for the regular cleaning of all carpets, heavy duty cleaning of both the domestic ones and those at business establishments is needed once in a while.

Vacuum cleaning cannot remove contaminants and allergens like dust mites, molds, fungi, bacteria, dander, pollen etc. After regular use in high traffic areas the dirt finds its way through the fibers of the carpet and gradually starts settling at the base. This makes the carpet look filthy and lackluster and needs a tough cleaning treatment. Commercial carpet cleaner can ideally be used both at home and in other busier areas like the business centers, offices, hospitals etc.

Commercial carpet cleaners can be broadly segregated into three varieties depending on the strength they have. Light commercial ones generally pump pressure levels of 60 psi, tanks which are used to house the cleaning solution and the recovery water are about 4.5 gallons. Water column lift is about 80 to 100” and the airflow ranges from 90-100 CFM. The jet wand heads have a modest width of 10”.
Moving on to the proper commercial varieties, everything that is offered here is bigger, stronger and better so that they can cater to areas which are larger and mostly receive heavy traffic making them dirtier as well. Talking in figures, we have pressure levels at 100 psi and water column lifts can manage a good 150-200”. Solution tank is 17 gallons while the recovery tank can hold 2 gallons less than that, i.e. 15 gallons. The airflow for the extraction can go up to 200 CFM. It also has jet wands with dual heads which are 12”.
The industrial grade cleaner is the most enhanced variety of the commercial cleaners. Specifications are ofcourse elevated at pressure levels of 500 psi and water column lifts that can manage up to 250”. The basic thought process behind the increased strength of these commercial carpet cleaner is that it can cover areas which are expansive in size relatively quickly.

One of the most important questions that might arise while buying a commercial carpet cleaner is whether to choose a heated or a non-heated one. The place where the machine has to be used can influence this decision to an extent. Like the carpets which are made from the natural fibers like wool cannot be cleaned with hot liquids at all. If hot water is used on the wool carpets it’ll cause the fibers to shrink. Whether the carpet cleaning machine is being used at home or in some business establishment, this fact applies. Also you cannot use the heated type while you are using it to clean stains like blood or some other liquids which have color in them. With hot water, the stain has a tendency to become set in the carpet, which makes it difficult for it to be cleaned if not impossible. Some cleaners have a provision for heating the water right inside the machine while some allow you to add the hot water. The downside of not using a heated variety is that it takes longer for the carpet to dry up and also it’s not sanitized as well as it would be, if hot water had been used.

The key features on the basis of which the different types of commercial carpet cleaners are segregated: Temperature and temperature control, pressure per inch (psi), solution tank and the recovery tank (which holds the dirty fluid) size and low flow technology.
